《孤單的美國人》榮獲台灣華僑總會文教基金會文藝創作首獎

林小萍出生於越南,是 越戰時期也孕育出了一位中、英、法、越語兼備的女作家。多年來她以中、英文字創出了處女作。故事的點滴也是作者本身的經歷。最顯赫的是發行推荐初期即獲得 臺灣、美國、加拿大、澳大利亞、越南、香港等國各方人文志士高度評價。戰爭結束後，她遷移到法國繼續上高中與音樂學院。之後前往美國唸大學，取得南加州大 學電腦學士、碩士和哈佛大學的MBA學位。她曾任北電網絡公司總監，並在美國加州矽谷創業有十年之久。

The Lonely American was awarded First Prize in Fiction (2014) by the World Overseas Chinese Art and Education Foundation. 

Vera Lam was born in Vietnam and grew up there during the “American War.” As a teenager she emigrated to France, where she attended high school and music conservatory. Moving to the U.S., Vera earned degrees from the University of Southern California and Harvard.

The Lonely American is among other things the fulfillment of a promise to tell the story of places and experiences she has known, and of people whose destinies she has shared.
