New photos and event to share...(林小萍) (11/27/14)

Woodland School in Portola Valley (Northern California)  invited me to talk to the 6th graders in a literature class.   I really enjoyed the interaction with the students. They were confident, enthusiastic and they asked very good questions.

I shared with them my story: how I left Vietnam as a teenager, went to France, and then came to America.

We also read an excerpt from The Lonely American, Chapter 15, Beethoven, Bach and Bombs.  Several of them volunteered to read the excerpt, and we got to do a bit of dramatic reading.

It was fun and very meaningful to me.  They were really a bunch of wonderful 6th graders!
